Lyn St. James's drive and determination led to a successful racing career. She has competed in top professional races worldwide since the mid-1970s. In 1992, St. James became the first woman to win the Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year award. That same year, St. James was invited to be a celebrity participant at the 55th annual All-American Soapbox Derby festivities.
