Gil Andersen was born in Norway and immigrated to the United States. He competed in the first six Indianapolis 500 races. He's seen here at the wheel of his #10 Stutz at the first Indy 500, in 1911. Andersen finished 11th, but his car's solid performance inspired Stutz Motor Company's slogan: "The Car That Made Good in a Day."
