Inscriptions

text within image: THIS FLYING MACHINE HAS BEEN SLIGHTLY DAMAGED, but Louis Bleriot is a happy man. He has just completed the first heavier-than-air flight across the English Channel when this picture was made in 1909. Madame Bleriot is on hand to greet him, as well as a host of spectators. His plane landed on a Dover hillside and was smashed up a bit, but Bleriot won the money prize and international attention.
