Artifact Overview

A group of wealthy golf enthusiasts founded the Lochmoor Club in 1917 on a 135-acre farm in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Among its original members were Edsel Ford and the Dodge Brothers. In February 1924, the first clubhouse burned. Club directors planned to rebuild immediately. By November, the new clubhouse -- designed by Stratton and Snyder -- was completed.
