Morris Markin formed Checker Motors Corporation in 1922. The company manufactured taxicabs at its plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan, until 1982. This Checker Model G-4 featured a landaulet body with a convertible roof over the passenger compartment. The G-4 was powered by a four-cylinder engine, while the G-6 had a six-cylinder unit. Checker sourced both engines from Buda Engine of Illinois.
