Ray Dietrich established his coachwork firm in Detroit in 1925. Dietrich, Inc., designed and built custom car bodies for automakers like Lincoln and Packard, and for individual clients. Dietrich designed this limousine, based on a Checker sedan, for Bishop Fulton J. Sheen. Bishop Sheen hosted the popular television program Life Is Worth Living from 1952 to 1957.
