New Members join The Henry Ford Board of Trustees

Dr. Alec D. Gallimore, Kouhaila ‘Ki’ Hammer, Jon Oberheide and Mark Truby join 19 Business and Civic Leaders from National and Global Organizations


(Dearborn, Mich. – Nov. 04, 2022) – The Henry Ford announced today the addition of four new members to its Board of Trustees in 2022. Kouhaila ‘Ki’ Hammer, CPA, President and CEO of Ghafari Associates and Jon Oberheide, Co-Founder and CTO at Duo Security were elected by the board and joined the institution in March, 2022. The board also elected Dr. Alec D. Gallimore, the Robert J. Vlasic Dean of Engineering at the University of Michigan and Mark Truby, Chief Communications Officer at Ford Motor Company in September, 2022. Each Trustee will serve three-year terms.

Ki Hammer has served in her current position at Ghafari since 2000. She joined Ghafari as Chief Financial Officer in 1986 and has successfully created a diversification strategy that enabled the company to experience steady growth. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum and has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential women in Michigan by Crain’s Detroit Business three times. In 2019, she was inducted into ESD’s College of Fellows. In addition to her role on The Henry Ford’s Board of Trustees, Hammer also sits on the boards of the Rackham Foundation, the MSU Business School Advisory Board as well as the Detroit Regional Chamber board and executive committee.

Jon Oberheide was the co-founder and CTO at Duo Security, a cybersecurity company helping protect over 30,000 organizations worldwide. Duo, headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, was acquired in 2018 by Cisco Systems for $2.4B. Beyond Duo, Jon enjoys paying it forward and helping technology startups through advising and board service. Prior to starting Duo, Jon was a security researcher, and completed his BS, MS, and PhD at the University of Michigan in cybersecurity.

Dean Gallimore is a rocket scientist, and in 2019 was elected to the National Academy of Engineering – among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. He has been a faculty member at the University of Michigan since 1992 and is the Richard F. and Eleanor A. Towner Professor of Engineering, an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, and founder and co-director of the Plasmadynamics and Electric Propulsion Laboratory. In 2005, Gallimore was awarded the Decoration for Meritorious Civilian Service for his United States Air Force Scientific Advisory Board work and in 2010, was elected a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He received his BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer, and his MA and Ph.D degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Princeton.

Mark Truby was appointed Chief Communications Officer and Ford Motor Company officer in 2017. He leads all of the company’s global communications and public relations activities. His role includes building the company’s reputation globally and helping to lead communications that reach Ford’s external and internal audiences, including customers, employees, dealers, suppliers, news media, communities, governments and policy makers. He joined Ford Motor Company in 2007 as the director of global corporate communications. Prior to joining Ford, Truby was an award-winning reporter and editor at The Detroit News.
