Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program

The application period for the Summer 2022 Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program has closed. If you submitted an application and have yet to receive a decision, please continue to check your email for updates.

The Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program at The Henry Ford is a cohort-based program that offers engaging professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities. We invite diverse candidates* who are curious about careers in the museum world to become a part of our legacy and take it forward. All internships are paid, full-time, and will last 10 weeks throughout Summer 2022 (June 6 – August 12).

The purpose of the internship program is twofold:

  • Offer opportunities to students and emerging professionals who identify with groups that are historically minoritized and underrepresented across the museum world
  • Invite interns to think outside of the box and explore their careers in ways they may not have considered before

*Candidates who have a disability, identify as Black, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, Arab, Middle Eastern, Hispanic, Latino/a/x, LGBTQIA+, or who exist at the intersection of these identities are encouraged to apply.

Opportunities extend across several departments at The Henry Ford. Regardless of the position, the most successful candidates will be collaborative, motivated, creative, and open to learning.

We are accepting internship applications in the following areas:

  • Analytics and Business Intelligence
  • Experience Design
  • Food Services Management
  • Graphic Design
  • Human Resources - DEI
  • Information Technology
  • Learning and Engagement
  • Marketing Project Management
  • Museum Programs
  • Historical Clothing Production and Alterations
  • Technology Engineer

Descriptions of each position are available on our career site, where you will also be able to submit your application and materials. Application requirements for each internship may vary, depending on the position and necessary qualifications.

If you have any questions, we welcome you to reach out to Mydashia Hough, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, via email (Employment@TheHenryFord.org).

Please note: International students who require Curricular Practical Training (CPT) work authorization are eligible to apply.
