Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program

Applications for Summer 2023 internships are now open! We encourage all interested candidates to submit their applications and materials by April 30th.

The Diversity and Inclusion Internship Program at The Henry Ford is a cohort-based program that offers engaging professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities. We invite candidates* who are curious about careers in the museum world to become a part of our legacy and take it forward. The most successful candidates will be collaborative, motivated, creative, and open to learning. All internships are paid and will last 10-15 weeks.

The purpose of the internship program is twofold:

  • Offer opportunities to students and emerging professionals who identify with groups that are historically minoritized and underrepresented across the museum world.
  • Invite interns to think outside of the box and explore their careers in ways they may not have considered before.

**Candidates who have a disability, identify as Black, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander, Arab, Middle Eastern, Hispanic, Latino/a/x, LGBTQIA+, or who exist at the intersection of these identities are encouraged to apply. All submitted applications will be considered.

Internship opportunities span across several departments and industries represented at The Henry Ford. For Summer 2023, internships will last 12 weeks, projected to begin on May 30th and conclude on August 18th. All internships are paid opportunities. We are excited to offer internship in the following areas this summer:

  • Analytics and Business Intelligence
  • Collections Management
  • Community Outreach and Engagement
  • Experience Design
  • Institutional Advancement
  • Marketing
  • Museum Programs

Descriptions of each position will be available on our career site, where you will also be able to submit your application and materials. Requirements for each application may vary, depending on the position and necessary qualifications. Candidates may apply for more than one internship based on their interests and qualifications.

We encourage you to to submit all applications and materials by April 30th. If you have any questions, we welcome you to reach out to Mydashia Hough, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, via email  (Employment@TheHenryFord.org).
