The Henry Ford Celebrates Record Attendance for Signature Programs

(Dearborn, Michigan – January. 22, 2018) –  The Henry Ford’s signature events had a record-setting year in 2017. Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village drew in more than 67,000 guests and Holiday Nights broke records for the third year in a row with more than 93,000 guests.

“Hallowe’en and Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village continue to be nationally recognized programs and top attendance performers thanks to the efforts of staff that work diligently year-round to create these inspiring experiences for our guests,” said Patricia Mooradian, president and CEO of The Henry Ford. “We look forward to the year ahead filled with new traveling exhibitions, programming and national events including the National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurs Expo in June.”

The institution welcomed more than 1.77 million visitors in 2017 thanks to new additions, unique exhibitions and programming including the opening of the Davidson-Gerson Glass Gallery in Greenfield Village, the permanent exhibition Mathematica: A World of Numbers and Beyond, and temporary exhibitions House Industries: A Type of Learning and The Science Behind Pixar which runs this year until March 18. In addition, The Ford Rouge Factory Tour recorded its second highest attendance with 148,000 visitors in 2017.

The Henry Ford kicked off 2018 with record-breaking attendance on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 15, providing free admission to nearly 18,000 visitors. The institution looks to continue 2017’s success with the opening of new museum exhibitions coming this spring and fall, and the airing of The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation’s 100th episode in April.
