In the 1930s and 1940s, Henry Ford summered at his Richmond Hill, Georgia, home. Ford brought his Old Time Orchestra there about 1940 to provide music for his old-fashioned dances. He also had Benjamin Lovett, accompanied by the orchestra, teach these traditional American dance steps to the children in the schools he built there.
