Twilight Bike Ride

Gear up for an unforgettable evening of cycling in Greenfield Village at Twilight Bike Ride.

Trikes, fixies, cruisers and road bikes are all welcome for a summertime cruise through 250 years of American history. Celebrate the boundary-breaking bicycle — an invention that paved the way for modern transportation — while you pedal past historic homes, working farms and legendary innovations. From Henry Ford's first Quadricycle to the Wright brothers' early bike shop beginnings, transportation inspiration is around every corner.

Along the way, stop for unique photo opportunities that bring the spirit of biking to life. Ride alongside historic bicycles with the Michigan Wheelmen, a group dedicated to preserving the heritage of cycling through their collection of antique bikes and living history presentations.

This year's event also brings even more ways to celebrate summer after hours with an energetic 1980s soundtrack and a new bike decorating station in Detroit Central Market, where cyclists can add extra personality to their ride. Inside The Lodge at Christie & Main, our "Ride-In Theater" experience returns with a screening of the 1986 cult-classic Rad, bringing even more pedal-powered nostalgia to the evening.

For our smallest cyclists, a training-wheels-only area is available near the historic Herschell-Spillman Carousel and the Donald F. Kosch Village Playground, both of which are included with admission.

Event Policies

Due to the nature of this special ticketed event, access to the entirety of Greenfield Village is limited; there is a designated biking path we ask all attendees to follow. Historic buildings will not be open.

Bicycles are required for each ticketholder. Electronic bicycles, scooters and skateboards are not permitted.

Helmets are not required, but their use is strongly encouraged.
