Eagle Tavern
From the tavern keeper's welcome to the last bite of our house-baked desserts, Eagle Tavern feels as inviting today as it must have felt in 1800-era Michigan.
The Wood family, the owners in 1850, were farmers and sourced from what they raised and foraged to feed their guests. Eagle Tavern became a social center of town, and this spirit infuses the dining hall just as vibrantly now.
Enjoy meals set in 1850 accompanied by tavern owner Calvin Wood and wife Harriet Wood as you take in the conviviality with a specialty cocktail or a temperance beverage, or linger over a seasonally inspired meal, curated to be faithful to original Eagle Tavern menus and historic specialties. The menu features seasonal dishes characteristic of southern Michigan at that time, and made from recipes drawn from sources that would have been available in the period.
