Dementia and Their Care Partners

The Henry Ford offers the following resources and programs to those living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia, along with their care partners:

  • In partnership with the Alzheimer's Association Michigan Chapter, we host monthly on-site Community Connect programs designed to provide people living with Alzheimer's disease and their care partners with a broad range of socialization through culturally significant events and programs.

    Upcoming Community Connect Programs:

    • Our War Too: Women in Service Exhibit in Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation — Collaborative program with Detroit Symphony Orchestra, July 8, 2:00-3:00 p.m.
    • Forest Ranger in Greenfield Village, August 4, 2:00-4:00 p.m
    • Pyrex, CorningWare and Corelle: Enduring Kitchen Icons from Corning, September 15, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
    • Bicycles: Powering Possibilities Exhibit Walk-Through, October 6, 2:00-4:00 p.m.

  • Dementia-friendly screenings at Giant Screen Experience are offered throughout the year. During these screenings, the lights in the theater are turned on, the sound is lowered, and attendees are welcome to talk, tap their feet, clap their hands, sing along, etc.
