Summary

Ford Motor Company opened its Highland Park plant in 1910, where it built most of its Model Ts, developed its moving assembly line, and instituted its Five Dollar Day. In 1914, Ford opened two new six-story buildings connected by a glass-covered craneway. Supplies delivered by railroad could be unloaded by crane and lifted to any floor of either building.
