Henry and Clara Ford and their guests, Thomas and Mina Edison, and President Herbert Hoover and First Lady Lou Hoover, traveled to The Henry Ford's 1929 dedication ceremonies in grand fashion. The 1858 steam locomotive The President -- named in President Hoover's honor -- pulled the party from Detroit's Michigan Central Station to the Smiths Creek Depot in Greenfield Village.
