Checkerboard and Backgammon Board, 1840-1860

Summary

Game players had options with this foldable board game set--on one side was a checkerboard, the other a backgammon board. Players would have used markers--perhaps made of wood--for each game. When not in use, the board folded up, making it portable and creating a compartment to hold the pieces so they would not be lost.
