Summary

Ford Motor Company's Highland Park plant hummed with activity during the 1910s. With the mid-decade implementation of the moving assembly line, the plant went from building some 200,000 Model Ts in 1913 to more than 820,000 in 1919. Assembled chassis were started and tested as part of the manufacturing process, as seen in this photograph taken about 1913.
