"Historic Summit Inn Resort," 2010

Summary

Between 1916 and 1924, industrialists Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and Harvey Firestone, and naturalist John Burroughs, took several camping trips together. Today, travelers can retrace the steps of these self-named "Vagabonds," including staying at the Summit Inn, where the campers dined and stopped for the night in both 1918 (due to needed car repairs) and 1921 (due to heavy rains).
