1965 Indianapolis 500 -- Item 1298
Add to SetSummary
Dan Gurney piloted the #17 car at the 1965 Indianapolis 500. Timing gear problems ended his race after 42 laps. But Gurney could rightfully take some credit for Jimmy Clark's winning Lotus-Ford. It was Gurney who, in 1962, brought Ford together with Team Lotus and its leader Colin Chapman, who designed Clark's Formula One-inspired car.
