Summary

Carroll Shelby joined Ford's struggling GT racing program in late 1964. Shelby, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a driver in 1959, turned things around as a team manager for Ford. His Shelby American crew reworked the cars and Ford won Le Mans with a GT40 Mark II in 1966, and with a Mark IV in 1967.
