Plymouth Gasoline Locomotives, Type 2, Model HL, 18-20 Ton, circa 1910

Summary

Plymouth industrial locomotives were designed for places like mines, mills, factories, agricultural operations, and construction sites. All early Plymouth locomotives were distinguished by their use of gasoline-fueled, internal-combustion engines and mechanical drivetrains -- similar to the engines and drivetrains used in automobiles. Plymouth later added conventional diesel-electric locomotives to its product lineup.
