Mrs. Elizabeth Cohen Millinery
Daily Activity at Greenfield Village®
- Open Daily
- Time: 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Location: Mrs. Cohen's Millinery on Main Street
Admire the display of original hats from the late 19th century at the historic millinery shop originally owned and operated by Elizabeth Cohen in Detroit. During your visit, see presenter demonstrations of hats trimmed with care and attention to historic detail.
A handful of hats trimmed by Cohen Millinery presenters can be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis, just as shoppers did more than a century ago. If interested in purchasing a hat, please speak to a millinery presenter for more information.*
If you have the delight of purchasing one of the hand-trimmed hats, you will receive a sales slip to pay for your hat at Liberty Craftworks Store. A receipt will be provided at the time of that transaction, which you will then take to Cohen Millinery to retrieve your hat. Like a traditional millinery shop, your hat will be packed in a hatbox for ease of transportation and storage.
*Pricing depends on the trimmings and type of hat and can range in price. Member discounts are not applicable.
