Carver-Carson Society Project Development Internship
The Henry Ford’s Historical Resources and Institutional Advancement teams cooperate to deliver programming supported through initiatives of the Carver-Carson Society. Relevant themes include food security, agricultural ethics and regenerative practices, biotechnology, environmental sustainability, and history-infused environmental literacy/green education.
The Curatorial division seeks an intern to assist in identifying historical resources, community partners, and the “ask” shared with foundations to expand edible education at The Henry Ford and Henry Ford Academy.
The intern's duties will include:
- Meeting with Curatorial, Institutional Advancement, Henry Ford Academy curriculum teams, and selected Carver-Carson Society members
- Research in THF holdings (individual or artifact/archival collection)
- Drafting narratives to support foundation grant submissions
At the completion of the internship, with assistance and input from appropriate staff, the student will present a synopsis of the project to an audience of The Henry Ford staff.
In addition to being currently enrolled in a graduate-level program, the student should:
- Know where your food comes from!
- Have reliable internet access
Additional desirable credentials:
- Research Skills
- Aptitude for networking and teambuilding
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word
- Interest in farm-to-fork or the slow food movement, organic/regenerative agriculture, agricultural ethics
