Summary

After becoming friends with philanthropist John D. Rockefeller Jr., Edsel Ford began to partner with him on numerous charitable efforts, including donating money to establish Great Smoky Mountains National Park. When Rockefeller Jr. found another way to completely cover the cost of the park, he suggested Edsel transfer his donation over to Shenandoah National Park, to which Edsel obliged.
