Take home a seasonal tradition, just as a century of American merrymakers have done. We specially source our fresh balsam firs for their heritage shape and distinctive scent. These are the classic Christmas trees that bring the rustic character of the 19th century to today’s yuletide celebrations. Museum admission is not required to shop.

- Christmas with the Dance Theatre Studio of Ann Arbor
- December 7, 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Join in on the holiday cheer with activities in the Museum Plaza. At 12:15 and 1:00p.m., delight in performances by Dance Theatre Studio of Ann Arbor. They will showcase a short and "suite" take on the classic Christmastime tale, "The Nutcracker," in the styles of tap, ballet, and hip-hop.
- Las Posadas with the Center of Music & Performing Arts Southwest
- December 14, 12:00-2:00 p.m.
The Center of Music & Performing Arts Southwest (COMPÁS) will do a special performance showcasing their student musicians at 1:00 p.m. in the museum plaza. Learn about this special Latin American holiday and participate in fun holiday activities.
- Winter Solstice with the Detroit Waldorf School
- December 21, 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Spark your creativity with a variety of activities, including paper lantern-making and a Spiral of Lights. Spiral walks will be led every 30 minutes. Please meet in the Museum Plaza to be led to Anderson Theater for this special experience. Space is limited.
- Hanukkah with the Jewish Historical Society of Michigan

Learn about the history and traditions of Hanukkah, like what makes the Hanukkah menorah special, and how the game of dreidel was used to teach important lessons.
- Kwanzaa with Mama Jahra
- December 27, 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Learn the seven principles of Kwanzaa through entertaining tales and music. Then, enjoy activities and crafts celebrating Kwanzaa in the Museum Plaza.
- Noon Year's Eve Party

Celebrate the end of the year with family-friendly crafts, activities, story time and a bubble wrap stomp to welcome in the new year.

Little learners get hands-on, minds-on at Tinkering for Tots, a program designed for curious preschoolers to develop an innovative mindset and make connections through storytelling, play, artifact exploration and a take-home STEAM activity kit.
